Essential duties:
Responsible for the maintenance, operations, and repair of the museum properties, including the HCAC, building management, lighting control, life safety, and plumbing systems. Successful candidate will be required to perform preventative maintenance, general repairs, and make adjustments to the building systems, equipment and fixtures in a safe and efficient manner with the over-all goal of providing a safe, productive, and comfortable working environment for the museum collection and building occupants.
Job Duties :
- Operates and Maintains the building’s HVAC system to optimum efficiencies while maintaining required humidity and temperature readings for the safety of the collection
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on HVAC equipment as required and/or directed, and maintain records on said equipment.
- Respond to work requests as required and handle other miscellaneous repairs.
- Provide support for moves of personnel and collections within the building.
- Provide on-call service for emergency repairs after normal business hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Perform domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance as required.
- Maintain all electrical, mechanical, and maintenance shop areas for cleanliness
- Maintain inventory of maintenance tools, equipment, supplies, and materials. Inform facilities manager of reorder needs.
- Work with and support of Security.
- Support special events, set ups/tear downs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to pass a 10 year back ground check.
- Motivated self starter.
- Must have Universal CFC certification.
- Must have 10 years experience in central plant operations and maintenance including chillers, towers, and boilers.
- Must have 10 years experience with DX refrigeration units.
- 10 years experience in the building maintenance field with a broad base of electrical, mechanical, humidity control, and building management systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills of all building systems.
- Skilled in the safe operation of hand and power tools.
- Strong PC skills associated with working building management systems and preventative maintenance applications.
- Good communications skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of museum staff and vendors.
- Valid driver license (insurable)
Physical demands:
- Ability to lift 100 pounds
- Must be able to work from a ladder, and work overhead.
- Ability to smell smoke and other chemicals.
- Must be able to work in heat or cold and outdoors.
- Love for music is a plus.
