Curator Talk: Japanese Musical Instruments 10:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Event Room 2 Join MIM’s curator for Asia, Eddie Chia-Hao Hsu, for an exclusive presentation exploring the vibrant musical traditions of Japan through instruments in MIM’s collection.
Shakuhachi Performance 11:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. North El Rio Yu-Jin Sokushin will demonstrate the sounds of Japan with his shakuhachi flute performance. This instrument is typically made with bamboo and used during Zen practices.
Taiko Performance by Ken Koshio 12:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Main Courtyard World-renowned musician Ken Koshio joins the Experience Japan lineup with a unique performance of Japanese taiko drumming.
