Long before Ed Sheeran was taken to court for allegedly borrowing someone else’s music, Mozart was “admiring” the work of the Haydn brothers. That amazing finale to Mozart’s Jupiter symphony? Hear how Joseph Haydn did it first! The program also includes two world premieres: Alan Belkin’s viola concerto, which was written for recent Juilliard masters graduate Graham Cohen; and a new work from promising Canadian composer River Sawchyn, which will maintain the program’s theme by borrowing from Mozart and Haydn. As a bonus, Cohen and Sawchyn will also perform a fiddle set.
