Grammy-winning musician Richard Bona is an internationally accomplished bassist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. He uses his unique sound and vocal gifts to represent his African origins and address the continent’s traditions, culture, beauty, and issues. His purpose and his ability to connect with his audiences have turned him into a staple in jazz and Afropop.
Bona has toured, composed, recorded, and created with some of the world’s greatest musicians, including Herbie Hancock, Harry Belafonte, Quincy Jones, Chick Corea, Sting, Stevie Wonder, and George Benson. He has also taught jazz improvisation at New York University and mentors young talent around the world.
