Ōkura is a remarkable artist who continues to travel the world, his ōtsuzumi in hand, in pursuit of transformative encounters. There is no doubt that the message he selflessly communicates with his drum will continue to move people around the world.
Shōnosuke Ōkura is a world-renowned ōtsuzumi (high-pitched hand drum) player from Japan. He is a member of the Association for Japanese Noh Plays. Noh is a form of classical Japanese musical drama. Ōkura will be joined by Phoenix-based Japanese musician and producer Ken Koshio, Japanese opera singer Shiho Nakagawa, and Indian tabla player Shreyas Iyer for an evening of global fusion music.
