Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children (AZAEYC) workshop participants will gain an overview of the importance of play and how musical play aligns with constructivist approaches to early childhood learning. Utilizing best practices in early childhood teaching, participants will also learn how to facilitate musical play in their educational environments. Through standards-based activities, participants will play through arts-integrated movement, math and visual art exploration, and English language arts finger plays by utilizing sensory-friendly aids (i.e., scarves and feathers). Attendees will also be able to tour MIM before and after the workshop.
