Performance: Harmony Project Phoenix 11:30 a.m.–noon North El Río Listen to upbeat orchestral Latin jazz tunes from Harmony Project Phoenix’s Orquesta Juvenil Latino Caribeña (Latin Caribbean Children’s Orchestra).
Curator Talk: Daniel Piper 12:15–12:45 p.m. Event Room 2 Hear Daniel Piper, curator for Latin America and the Middle East, talk about the intricacy of the Caribbean’s musical genres, featuring instruments from MIM’s collection.
Workshop: Caribbean Drumming 1:00–2:00 p.m. Founders Room Join AZ Rhythm Connection and learn about the rhythms and beats used in Caribbean music during this fun and lively drumming workshop!
Performance: Walt Richardson 3:15–4:00 p.m. North El Río Listen to veteran musician Walt Richardson showcase the sounds of Jamaica in this reggae-fueled performance.
