Nick Waterhouse grew up in a coastal town near Long Beach, California. He was there for two decades before he found a home in San Francisco, working at record store alongside like-minded young crate-diggers and 45 collectors. He started making his own records, including Time’s All Gone (2012), Holly (2014), Never Twice (2016), Nick Waterhouse (2019), and now Promenade Blue in 2021. His newest album takes a spiritual look to the past. The first track, “Place Names,” brings teenage memories to the forefront, as Waterhouse ponders the pride he takes in his hometown and the distinct life that he has made. The album represents rebirth and reinvigoration as well as a clarity of purpose.
