Three Arizona-based artists join together in the third performance of a series highlighting the songwriting talent of Phoenix’s own.
Brian Chartrand Brian Chartrand’s projects—Live from Laurel Canyon, the Sweet Remains, and the Project—have solidified his status as a local and national talent. Equally comfortable performing in a myriad of ensembles, Chartrand shines as a songwriter, bringing a masterful and sensitive touch to heartfelt lyrics. He has been making music in Phoenix, Arizona, since 2003.
Jay Allan Jay Allan plays what is known to his fans as funky-folk, blues rock. Channeling honest passion and raw emotion through his own life and observations, he continues to gain fans locally and nationally. He combines memorable lyrics with genre-bending styles in his original songs, outlining themes of joy, love, loss, gratitude, and searching with an insightful and sometimes humorous touch.
Matthew Thornton Matthew Thornton is the singer for the Phoenix-based rock band Vinyl Station. A music professional since 2008, he has performed his original songs in some of the country’s most esteemed venues, including the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the Beacon Theater in New York City.
