Guitarist, composer, producer, and arranger Chieli Minucci is the longtime leader of the Grammy-nominated jazz-fusion group Special EFX. In addition to writing and performing his own music, Minucci has recorded and performed with top artists such as Celine Dion, Lou Reed, Lionel Richie, and Jennifer Lopez as well as jazz artists Kirk Whalum, Bernie Williams, Marion Meadows, and Mindi Abair. He has also won three Emmys for his work composing for television and film.
Violinist Karen Briggs left the classical music world for jazz and contemporary instrumental music. She is best known for spending 13 years on tour with contemporary instrumental musician Yanni and was a soloist on the Live at the Acropolis tour.
Keyboardist Lao Tizer is a rising star of the world fusion genre. His original music puts a modern twist on the 1970s and early 1980s heyday of jazz fusion. His multigenre and multinational group the Lao Tizer Band has toured the world and placed near the top of Billboard’s Jazz Albums chart.
World-renowned drummer and producer Joel Rosenblatt has performed and recorded with such greats as Spyro Gyra, Lee Ritenour, Chick Corea, and Manhattan Transfer.
Bassist David Livolsi attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he combined his influences from rock, jazz, R&B, blues, fusion, funk, and soul to create his sound on the bass. He has worked with such notable artists such as John Scofield, Bill Evans, and Roberta Flack.
