Clarke can toss off more good bass lines in one night than most rock bassists do in an entire career.
—Washington Star
Clarke left mouths open in amazement as he coaxed melody, rhythm and percussion from his upright bass somehow all at once.
—Syracuse Post-Standard
Bass virtuoso Stanley Clarke is a living legend. Known for his musicality, dexterity, and ferocity on the acoustic and electric bass, Clarke was the first jazz fusion bassist to headline tours, selling out performances around the world. His creativity has been recognized and rewarded in every way imaginable. In 2022, Clarke was named a Jazz Master by the National Endowment for the Arts, and in 2011 he received the highly prestigious Miles Davis Award at the Montreal International Jazz Festival in recognition of his body of work. He has won three Grammy Awards: one with the seminal fusion group Return to Forever, which he cofounded with Chick Corea and Lenny White; one with the Stanley Clarke Band; and one in a trio with Corea and White for the 2011 record Forever.
The members of 4EVER, Clarke’s virtuosic young band, bring a dynamic youthful energy and freshness to Clarke’s music. The band features drummer Jeremiah Collier, pianist and keyboardist Jahari Stampley, guitarist Colin Cook, and saxophonist Emilio Modeste—extraordinarily consummate musicians who excel in pushing the boundaries of their instruments and creating electrifying performances.
