Virtuosos on . . . clarinet and saxophone.
—New York Times
Identical twins Peter and Will Anderson are two of the most extraordinary jazz woodwind players today. Born and raised in Washington, DC, the Andersons moved to New York City to attend the Juilliard School. They have performed with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Wycliffe Gordon, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Paquito D’Rivera, and Wynton Marsalis, and they can be heard on the 2011 Grammy-winning soundtrack of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire with Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks.
Onstage, the brothers explore the life and works of composer George Gershwin through music, informative narrative, and entertaining video presentations. One of the most striking geniuses of modern music, Gershwin composed for Tin Pan Alley, Broadway, film, radio, and symphony orchestras, combining jazz and European classical music.
