The Krugers are nothing short of magnificent.
—Bluegrass Journal
Since their formal introduction to American audiences in 1997, the Kruger Brothers’ remarkable discipline, creativity, and ability to infuse classical music into folk music has resulted in a unique sound that has made them a fixture in the world of acoustic music. The honesty of their writing has become a hallmark of the trio’s work.
The group includes Jens Kruger (banjo and vocals), Uwe Kruger (guitar and lead vocals), and Joel Landsberg (bass and vocals). Originally from Switzerland, brothers Jens and Uwe began playing American folk music at an early age, inspired by the likes of Doc Watson and Bill Monroe. In its ever-expanding body of work, the trio’s original music is crafted around the members’ discerning taste, and the result is unpretentious, cultivated, and delightfully fresh. Through their numerous releases, radio and television performances, lectures, and collaborations, the Kruger Brothers’ powerful artistic statement continues to inspire and enlighten audiences and musicians around the world.
In 2021, Jens Kruger was inducted into the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame.
